CatchAtlasUK Privacy Notice

Last updated: 1 September 2026

CatchAtlasUK is operated by Handley Classic / Mark Handley. This notice explains the personal information used when you create an account, subscribe, use member features or contact us.

Information we use

Why we use it

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide paid membership, confirm subscription access, provide requested fishing-planning features, maintain billing records, credit legitimate affiliate referrals, respond to enquiries and protect the service from misuse. Where processing is needed to provide an account or paid membership, we generally rely on performance of our contract with you. We may rely on legitimate interests for service security and administration, and on consent where consent is required for optional browser storage.

Services that process information

CatchAtlasUK uses service providers including Netlify for hosting and account authentication and Stripe for subscriptions and billing. Weather, marine, tide and location requests may be sent to the data providers used by the relevant tool, including services such as MET Norway, Open-Meteo, WorldTides, UK Environment Agency services, postcodes.io and OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Those providers process requests under their own terms and privacy information.

Browser storage and cookies

Essential browser storage is used for functionality such as preferences and account-related features. CatchAtlasUK does not currently use third-party advertising cookies. Optional referral storage is only used when you choose to allow it; you can change that choice from Cookie settings in the site footer.

How long information is kept

Account and subscription information is kept while needed to provide the service and for reasonable business, accounting, dispute and legal purposes. Information held by Stripe or Netlify may be retained according to their own retention requirements. Browser-stored information remains on your device until you clear it or the feature removes it.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis used. Contact us at the email above to make a request.

Complaints

If you have concerns, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes

We may update this notice as CatchAtlasUK develops. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.

This notice is intended to describe the current CatchAtlasUK setup in clear language. It is not a substitute for tailored legal advice.
